SPAR supports community ahead of new Bacup store launch
SPAR HAS ADDED ITS SUPPORT TO COMMUNITY GROUPS IN ROSSENDALE AND WILL HOLD A FAMILY FUN DAY AS PART OF THE OPENING CELEBRATIONS FOR ITS NEW CONVENIENCE STORE IN BACUP.
THE new 3,000 sq. ft. SPAR and Shell branded forecourt will open at 11am on Thursday 31st March on the site of the former hub in Burnley Road.
Situated on one of Bacup’s busiest main roads, the site has been more than a year in development after planning permission was granted in 2020.

Cllr Jackie Oakes will cut the ribbon to officially open the store and members of the public will then be invited inside to take advantage of a range of fantastic opening day deals.
James Hall & Co. Ltd’s traditional 1953 delivery wagon will also be on display on the opening day.
Ahead of the launch, James Hall & Co. Ltd, SPAR UK’s primary wholesaler and distributor for the North of England, has been putting community at the heart of the opening with sponsorship and contributions.
These include support for Bacup Borough Football Club and a donation to the 2nd Rossendale Scouts and Brass Band.
A family fun day is also planned for the SPAR’s opening weekend on Saturday 2nd April from 11am until 1pm when the Brass Band will be performing live. There will be face painting opportunities, a raffle, and goody bags for children and adults who attend on the day to take home.

After a £3m investment and complete overhaul of the site, the renamed Holmes Service Station features six fuel pumps, a jet wash, an ATM machine and customer parking.
Inside the SPAR store, there is a high-quality Graham Eyes butchers counter, Clayton Park deli and a range of refreshment options including Cheeky Coffee, F’Real milkshakes and smoothies, and a Tango Ice Blast machine.
The new SPAR store will be open between 6am and 11pm seven days a week, and there is also a comprehensive range of fresh foods, food to go, major branded products, and beers, wines and spirits to meet customer demand.
