● DWP Universal Credit and other benefits rule changes for April (March 26):

John Zen Bartosik: £10 a month won’t cover the rise of electricity and gas as well as the rise in food prices. People on universal credit are going to struggle come April, something needs to be done about it or else people won’t be able to eat or keep warm during the winter months.

Eleri Jones: How do they expect the disabled people and pensioners to live after paying everything out. Chrissy Brown: Rob Peter to pay Paul yet again Carolyn Ann Armstrong: Now advertising tax credits are going over to Universal Credit 2024 you could be better off.

No you won’t. I had the option of doing this last year and I’m so pleased I stayed on tax credits as I’m getting a lot more then I would on Universal Credit. Jeanne Kemp: Why is it always them in benefits that get a rise, my pension went up three pound and I’ve worked fifty years it’s disgusting

Peter Harrison: All those people who voted for Boris...tut tut.

Mary Cummings: An extra loaf of bread and a bag of potatoes, wowza

Eva Solomon: Pathetic amount and nowhere near enough to help with all the price hikes

Kelly Dee Brant: They take it back off you another way Paul Wheatley: Wow 10 quid if you get the full universal credit wow deep joy I can afford to go on holiday now

Lorraine Pike: Is Peter going to rob Paul for the rise in gas prices?

Sarah Vanson: It’s nothing new, it always changes come April

Elaine Priestley: Give it to charities

Katt Peters Calhoun: Give it you in one hand and take it from the other. The only people that get rich and stay rich are the rich. Whilst they rob the poor.

● PEOPLE highlight their priorities for Accrington town centre regeneration (March 25):

John Gaskill: Is the first one vote in a whole new council?

Heath Jepson: Remember folks, we are being told we need a ‘freight terminal’. Just what everyone needs in Huncoat and the rest of Hyndburn.

Wendy Sweeney: Look how much money they wasted on the town hall and even took away the trees. It’s killed Accrington, terrible.

Mark Bibby: What a joke!! What the people of Accrington want??

I thought the all point of the investment was to attract people to Accrington?

Let’s face it Accrington has had so much spent on it over the years compared to other local towns so why is it trying to be a flagship for Hyndburn quite simply cus they have a town hall. Spend money on other local towns.

Joan Goody: I think they

have completely destroyed Accy town centre.

Peter Joinson: They call that a ‘vision’ - if it wasn’t so sad you’d just laugh at it!! Elaine Cunliffe: This town is a disgrace and doesn’t even deserve the title of “town”. Dilys Jones Rodia:

Rawtenstall went the same way as Accrington is going but new MPs have given new life to Rawtenstall and it’s now a decent town Julie Bottomley: I thought most people wanted the Arndale knocking down. Make way for open spaces. Booth Kate: The whole of Accy centre needs sorting. It’s a right mess. The cornflake path don’t do it any favours either

Annette Lawson: Sad, when I was growing up it was the best market ever inside and out.
