AILEEN O’BRIEN

-

IT is with deep sadness that the family of Aileen O’Brien, aged 80, announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, March 23, in hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Aileen was born in Greenock, Renfrewshire before making her home in Accrington.

During her life she had various jobs in the Accrington area, including working at Woolworths, Stockley’s Sweets, and Express Gifts, where she was a supervisor.

After her retirement she enjoyed foreign holidays, which included visits to Australia to spend time with her family. She also enjoyed shopping trips and socialising, but most of all Aileen loved nothing more than spending time with and being surrounded by her family.

Aileen sadly leaves behind her partner Stuart.

She was also a much loved mum to Diane, Stephen and Gary, a devoted nana to her grandchildren Michael, Andrew, Lucy, Samuel and Kiarah, and greatgrandchildren Taylor and Teddy, and also a much loved auntie of her nieces and nephews.

She will be very sadly missed by all her loving family and friends.

Aileen didn’t want a sombre affair, therefore if you would like to wear a small touch of blue in her honour, this would be most welcome, as this was her favourite colour.

Her funeral service will take place at 3pm, on Friday, April 8 at Accrington Crematorium.

Afterwards, memories of Aileen can be shared at Great Harwood Cricket Club. Family flowers only please, but donations are welcomed in memory of Aileen for the East Lancashire Hospice and may be sent c/o funeral director Barton & Hallworth Funeral

Service, Oswaldtwistle.
