THE VOTERS SHOULD KNOW

-

I HAVE voted in every national and local elections since I was allowed to do so at 21.

I did it for three reasons.

Firstly because it’s my right.

Secondly because hundreds of people over the years have fought for me to have that right.

Thirdly, and mainly, because throughout certain areas of the world, millions, perhaps billions of people would love to get a democratic elected government of their choice by simply putting a cross on a piece of paper.

If I don’t use my vote, I insult these people.

But if it’s correct that we live in a democratic country then shouldn’t the people be told who in government broke the Covid rules?

They are going to be given letters and fined, all well and good.

Some of these people, were responsible for making these Covid lockdown rules that said people couldn’t hold parties etc. and they broke those rules.

The general public that broke these rules were fined and shamed, in the media, even in their local media.

Now we have this “sensation as council chief quits Labour”, he says that the Labour Party has become unpleasant, bullying, and vindictive.

He also said that the Labour Party is being misdirected by certain individuals who are operating behind the scenes.

If it’s true that we live in a democratic country, shouldn’t what is going on be out in the open, not, shall we say, behind closed doors?

Don’t the people of Hyndburn who vote, whether they vote Labour or any other party, shouldn’t they know because this could decide how they vote if they know the facts?

Surely that is democracy, truly working.
