DOREEN BRADSHAW

-

IN hospital on Thursday, March 31, Doreen, aged 83, of Great Harwood, formerly of Clayton-leMoors.

The devoted wife of the late Joe, much loved mum of Beverley and Mark, dear mother-in-law of Tom and Gillian, cherished grandma of Gary, Rebecca, Honey and Harry, great-grandma of Callum, Landon, Sienna and Stella, sister of the late Margaret, also a dear relative and friend to many.

Doreen married Joe in 1958 where they started life together on Victor Street, Clayton-le-Moors.

Doreen loved dancing at the Ritz with Joe and socialising at Green Haworth Golf Club with Joe’s sisters Renee and Gladys, and their husbands Fred and Noel.

Doreen spent part of her working life in factories, but really came into her own when she started home help in later life; she was devoted to this work as she was naturally caring and loved to give her time to those who needed her.

Doreen had a love of animals - especially her dogs Pepper and Jip and her five cats.

She also had a love for the countryside. She enjoyed going for drives out through the Ribble Valley, embracing all that nature had to offer, followed by meals out.

Holidays were very much looked forward to.

Visiting Capri was Doreen’s best holiday and many happy memories were made at Pontins with her family.

Doreen took great pride in her appearance and everything had to be just so - she loved her clothes, lippy and nail varnish.

She was also very house proud and loved to go shopping for new home furnishings.

Doreen was a devoted and loving wife, mum, grandma, great-grandma, mother-in-law, relative and friend to many, and she will be sorely missed by her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

The funeral service was due to be held at 2.20pm on Thursday, April 14 at Accrington Crematorium.

Doreen’s family have asked for those attending her funeral to wear a touch of pink to honour Doreen’s love of the colour pink.

Family flowers only please; donations in memory are being gratefully received on behalf of Haywill Animal Rescue & Therapy Centre or Cancer Research UK via www.champfunerals.com/obituaries or by sending to the funeral director Champ Funeral Services, Clayton-leMoors.
