TRIBUTES have been paid to a devoted care worker who had a ‘heart of gold’ and an ‘infectious smile’.

The mother-of-one was a care assistant at The Woodlands Care Home in Clayton, where she worked for more than 25 years.

Sharron was truly devoted to those she cared for and she was well respected in her profession.

Her son, Adam, said: “She had a heart of gold and she was a genuinely caring person.

“She was kind, thoughtful, caring and bubbly and she was such a playful and loving grandmother.

“She had an infectious smile and laugh and she never had a bad word to

say about anyone.” Sharon was born in Accrington to parents Clifford and Jean and remained in her beloved home town all of her life.

The former Hollins student graduated from her

Health and Social Care studies in her early 50s and remained in the care sector all of her life.

Sharron enjoyed socialising, especially with her best friends, the two Allison’s and Carol and together they became known as ‘The Four Musketeers’.

The grandmother-ofthree shared a special bond with her brother Russell and his partner Val, who she often met up with and went out for lunch.

Her grandchildren affectionately called her ‘Grandma Chocolate Bag’ as she loved to treat the three girls with chocolates.

Sharron would watch television with her adored grandchildren and shower them with love and affection.

She had four beloved cats and enjoyed going for walks at the Coppice in Accrington.

She was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed immersing herself in author David Eddings’ books. She and her son, who she was inseparable with, shared love for Lord of the Rings.

Sharron will be dearly missed by her son Adam and his partner Lyndsay, grandchildren Ava, Emily and Faye, brother Russell and his partner Val, nephew Rick and niece Kristiana, her friends and everyone else who knew her.
