JACK Holland, of Great Harwood, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife and daughter at his side on February 25, aged 89 years.

The devoted and much loved husband of Pat, loving dad of Michael, Lynda, Neil and Rachel, dear father-in-law of Val, Carol and Neil, cherished grandad of Ian, Jill, James, Chris, Emily, Charlotte, Sarah, Daniel, Jonathan and Edward, greatgrand­ad of Lewi, Henry, Elsie, Rowan, Jack, Juniper and Albert.

Born and raised in Rishton with his four sisters, Jack met the love of his life Pat at a dance at Accrington Con club and they were married on July 1 1958 enjoying a wonderful marriage spanning over 65 years.

Following his joinery apprentice­ship, Jack joined the RAF where he loved being stationed in the Seychelles and

Cyprus.

After three years in the RAF Jack had a long career as a self-employed joiner. Jack was a true grafter who always took great pride in his work which also extended to his home life where he completely renovated two family homes.

Away from work, Jack and Pat loved to dance and were often at local dances and dance weekends where they enjoyed ballroom, sequence and line dancing.

He was a keen motorcycle enthusiast and former member of the local branch of the Vintage Motorcycle Club, Jack also loved cycling and would often be seen cycling around the local area.

Holidays were always a special time for Jack, he and Pat enjoyed many holidays in their touring caravan, often joined by other family members, they also enjoyed coach trips as well as holidays abroad. Particular­ly memorable were the special family weekends away at the Dalmeny Hotel in St. Anne’s.
