Event marks market launch
A FREE family-friendly event is coming to a town in celebration of diverse culture, talent, and businesses.
The event will take place on Accrington Town Square and Broadway on Saturday, March 16, from 11am-3pm to mark the much-anticipated launch of the ‘Market on the Square’.
Visitors can enjoy family-friendly activities, engaging free entertainment and sweet treats.
There will be fairground rides, face painting, live performances, and much more.
Attendees can also grab Accrington Town Square branded tote bags, filled with goodies from the project team.
An engagement gazebo will be set up on the
Town Square during the event with information about the current plans for the Market Hall and other Accrington Town
Square projects.
Visitors will have the chance to share thoughts and preferences on elements of the projects.
The new ‘Market on the Square’ will also be open and trading with a wide range of goods for shoppers to explore.
Participate in the Market competition trail for a chance to win a brand-new iPad, funded by the project team.
Simply grab a flyer from any of the stalls, make purchases from three different market traders, collect stamps from vendors along the way, and post the flyer with your full name and contact details into the red letterbox in the gazebo opposite the Artisan Bakery in the Town Square before 2.15pm.
The lucky winner will be announced at 2.30pm.
The event provides the opportunity for the entire community to come together and support small businesses and mark the next milestone in the Levelling-Up funded transformation of key Accrington Town Centre buildings.
