Music festival extends early tickets sale into June
ORGANISERS of a music festival have extended their early bird ticket sale until next month.
OAK FEST will return for its second year on the back of a hugely successful inaugural festival held in 2023.
The event will take place on July 27 at Oak Hill Park in Accrington.
The first OAK FEST attracted 5,000 people to Oak Hill Park and featured a line-up of 13 artists.
This year, organisers are planning to go bigger and better with the first paid ticketed format and an ambitious and exciting line-up including international touring artists such as Kate Nash.
The festival will welcome the British pop icon as the headlining act, on the back of the release of a brand new album and a performance at Glastonbury Festival in June.
Other acts taking to the stage include Manchester legends Bez and Rowetta, local Accrington lads B55, Amsterdam indie pop powerhouse Pip Blom and New Orleans brass and 90s dance fusion band Mr Wilson’s Second Liners.
OAK FEST is a full day out with gates opening at 11am and closing at 10pm and, as well as music, there will be plenty of free activities for children and adults including a Silent Disco, crafts and more.
There will also be a community makers market and a feast of independent street food.
A free shuttle bus will also take festival goers to the site directly from Accrington train station.
OAK FEST is part of a wider vision which places culture at the heart of a strategy aiming to establish Accrington as a place where creatives from Lancashire and beyond can thrive.
The festival has been commissioned as part of a new culture and heritage programme delivered for Hyndburn and Accrington by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

“By creating a music festival that attracts established headliners, such as Kate Nash, we can also give performance opportunities to some of the incredible emerging local talent born here in Accrington.
“Our goal is to establish a creative eco system, where nationally recognised artists and high profile events can work together with homegrown talent that is supported by grassroots investment.
“We can’t wait to welcome the people of Accrington and beyond to Oak Hill Park for an amazing second year!”
The £15 early bird ticket offers the chance to see all of the acts across two stages.
