VOITH

For more than 80 years, Voith has successfully executed the construction and modernisation of hydropower plants on the African continent. Also in Malawi, the technology company has established itself as an experienced industry stalwart.

From 1978 to 1996, Voith supplied five 20 MW Francis turbines and five generators for the Nkula Power Station. Since then, Voith has supplied spare parts, services and maintenance to the first major hydropower plant nationwide and various other hydropower plants.

Currently, the company refurbishes the main inlet valves of the plant. All works are done in close collaboration with local power generator EGENCO, the largest utility of Malawi.
