A new shop fulfils the dream of two lifelong shooters - as the editor tells us
Mark and Sam Potter’s new gun shop deserves a visit.
Last October, Mark and Sam Potter achieved an ambition, which was to have their own gun shop - FMJ, based in Dunchurch, Warwickshire. They’re ultra-keen shooters and wanted a shop that would be the kind of place that they’d visit themselves, carrying good stocks of guns, ammo and all the associated equipment. They have Matt Corral managing the shop for them day-to- day, and he’s been a keen airgun hunter since he was 13 years old, so he really knows his guns - especially his beloved springers.
When they started the shop, offering high- quality airguns was high on their list, and because of this they are dealers for Air Arms, Weihrauch, Daystate, Brocock, Hatsan, BSA, Webley, ASG, Umarex and SIG Sauer guns, alongside Hawke Optics, Nikko Stirling, and Bushnell scopes, plus pellets from H& N, JSB and Bisley. As you can see from the photographs, they keep plenty of stock, which is important because it means that you’ll get what you want when you visit.
Shooters of pre- charged pneumatic rifles and pistols will be pleased to know that FMJ offers a dive-tank filling service on site, with a whileyou-wait service. Those of us who have interests in other shooting disciplines are also well catered for with large stocks of shotguns, rimfire and centrefire rifles.
The shop is inside a purpose-built unit with lots of free parking right by the door - a world away from cramped, old-fashioned, high-street
