Power comparison

Air Gunner - - Your Letters -

I’m deciding which airgun magazine to subscribe to in the new year. I really enjoyed Jan 2017’s edition of Air Gunner – I especially liked the somewhat grisly but fascinating article on rabbits’ heads – but I missed seeing a specifications box for each rifle/pistol you reviewed. I don’t mind the sacrifice of a photo because, for me, this is more important. Is this something you would consider including in the near future, especially as the product info would be readily available from the manufacturers?

I liked how you mentioned FAC air rifles. Most of us will happily shoot sub 12 ft.lbs. guns, but others dream of acquiring a firearms certificate so that they can own an FAC one. Do we really need one? This question leads me to suggest something; have you ever run articles comparing the performance/accuracy of FAC and non-FAC airguns, including trajectory charts? If not, do you think your readers would like to read them? Rebecca

Hello Rebecca I wrote just such an article comparing a 12 ft.lbs. rifle with a high-power model last June, so repeating it might be a bit dull for regular readers. I’ll look for a new way to compare them to show what the difference is in the real world soon. Ed.

What is the real difference in performance between standard and high power?
