Buttered mosquitoes!

Air Gunner - - YOUR LETTERS -

In reply to Tom Verrity’s problem with mozzies, I thought I would pass on some sound advice from my old Company Sergeant Major who, when asked about this problem by a young recruit in jungle training camp, replied: “Just rub butter on the exposed areas.” When asked if this would stop them biting, he said, “No son, but they just slide off when they land.” I hope this will be of as much use to Tom as it has been to me over the years. PS. I’ve only had malaria three times. JR Hello JR I might have been born at night, but it wasn’t last night! Butter? I’ve heard of some funny insect repellents in my time, but methinks thou dost reply in jest, sir. Ed.

Mosquito repellent? Who says?
