Bouncing back

Air Gunner - - YOUR LETTERS -

Having just read Charlie Portlock’s article about mental health and shooting, I have to say a big ‘well done’. This is something that does not get talked about, and men in particular seem to find it hard to discuss. We seem to want get on with it on our own. I have found myself pull away from people over after a tough last 12 months, but recently I have started shooting again to get out into some fresh air and it has helped a great deal. I would like to thank you and Charlie for bringing this important subject into the open, and keep up the good work. GERAINT HUGHS

Hello Geraint As you rightly say, we men often think that we have to be strong and deal with our problems alone, but a bit of fun and some exercise can often be good medicine, especially in the company of like- minded friends. I hope that you keep on shooting your airgun and can put the last year behind you. Ed.

Fresh air, something positive to focus on, and a bit of exercise is therapy at its finest
