Air Gunner - - Know Your Air Rifle -

Components don’t get more essential than the barrel, or specifically its bore, which is where the pellet is spin- stabilised by the effect of the rifling - a series of spiral grooves - as the pellet is blasted through from its loading point at the barrel’s breech, to its exit at the muzzle. The muzzle is finished perfectly square - a process known as ‘crowning’ to ensure that the pellet is released cleanly and evenly from the bore. NEVER allow the crown or the rifling to become damaged, and only use proper barrel- cleaning equipment, or accuracy will suffer.
