Air Gunner - - Know Your Air Rifle -

The sound- deadening effect of a silencer or moderator on a PCP is nothing short of spectacular. From the alarming muzzle-blast of an unsilenced rifle, to a whisperquiet ‘phutt!’, once that moderator has been attached, it really is impressive. Most PCPs come either with a dedicated silencer, or with their muzzles threaded to accept one. There are rules for moderator use, and the main one is always to zero your rifle with the moderator fitted, making sure accuracy is not affected. Pellets can ‘clip’ the ‘ baffles’ inside the silencer causing serious accuracy issues. A rifle should be every bit as accurate with a moderator fitted, as it is without one.
