Pistol Promise

Air Gunner - - Your Letters -

I’ve just read through your first Air Gunner issue as editor and must say that I enjoyed the variety and your efforts at making the magazine appeal to as many readers as possible. I’ve been a reader since the very first issue in 1984 and enjoy John Atkins’ column the most – probably no surprises there!

As a long- term pistol and rifle user/ collector, I welcome your intention to feature pistols regularly because they often play second fiddle to rifles. As I’m sure you will see from your coaching sessions, pistols can be a serious competitive tool and whilst I also used to compete in pistol matches, I admit I enjoy the plinking aspect more these days. That probably goes for rifles too, if I’m honest. I don’t have a need to hunt these days, and no longer compete, but get immense satisfaction from hitting the mark with an old gun – be it rifle or pistol.

I enjoyed your review of the Glock 17; there are three variants of this pistol on the market, as I’m sure you know and I’m putting the final touches together on a detailed review for your sister magazine. Good luck in the role of Air Gunner editor!

JOHN MILEWSKI, (fellow AGW contributor). Hi John,

Many thanks for your kind words.

I too enjoy shooting pistols, which is just another reason why I intend to do review more of them in the mag (and on video). That’s not the only reason though, I’ve had loads of emails and letters asking for more pistol stuff.

I’m really looking forward to getting some proper pistol instruction, from someone who is at the top of their game at present and I hope to convey some top tips and techniques to those who don’t already know them. Have fun with the Glock – I know I did. Ed

You can look forward to more pistol action in future issues
