Children’s committee The annual summer outing is a trip to Ayr on Saturday, July 2. The bus leaves from the social club at 9.30am and will also pick up passengers outside the courthouse in Airdrie town centre at 9.45am; it will leave Ayr at 6pm. All places on the trip have now been booked. Da Capo music group teaches boys and girls aged nine and upwards to play silver B flute and drums, with instrument­s provided. Lessons take place on Mondays from 6pm to 9pm at the congregati­onal church hall on Broomknoll Street, Airdrie. Contact John on 07525 064303 for further details.

Social club Activities this week include Sunday night bingo, with tickets on sale from 8pm and eyes down at 8.30pm. LLOL64 are holding a prize and money bingo night on Monday, June 27; tickets on sale from 7.30pm and eyes down at 8pm. The Lucky Joker draw is made at 8.30pm on Sundays, with tickets on sale from committee members and bar staff. For further informatio­n on the above see the club notice board.

Back Brae Gospel Hall The Sunday school sessions run from 2.30pm to 3.15pm. The breaking of the bread takes place on Sundays at 11am.

The evening gospel meeting is held at 6.30pm every Sunday, except the last Sunday of the month when the service runs from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. A prayer and Bible reading is also held every Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9pm. Stanrigg Miners’ Disaster Memorial is open to all who want to visit, with transport to get up to the site available. Applicatio­ns to the miners’ holiday home in Couris, Fife, for miners, their beneficiar­ies and families are now available, with the home open from now until August; call 01383 880307 to register an interest in visiting. Toddlers’ football Greengairs United train on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6pm to 7pm in the community hall; this includes Tiny Tots Academy. Places are available for youngsters from the Greengairs and Airdrie areas who would like to join the football club. Councillor’s surgery Councillor Sophia Coyle’s surgery will take place tonight from 6pm to 6.30pm in the community hall.
