Readers pay their tributes as body of missing mum-of-four Kirsty is found

-

The Advertiser’s Facebook readers were very saddened to hear the awful news that missing Airdrie mum Kirsty Aitchison’s body was recovered from the River Clyde on Saturday.

Kirsty vanished following a night out in Glasgow six days earlier and the deaf 30-year-old tragically leaves behind four children.

Linda Murray said: “What a shame. Thoughts and prayers go to her children and her family.”

Elaine McMath Patrick paid her tribute to Kirsty: “Such a beautiful girl. Prayers and thoughts with family and friends.”

Julia William McGovern added: “Our thoughts are with her family and friends.” Esther Rooney posted: “Sad news.” Following reports that police have put the brakes on a gang of boy racers causing havoc in Airdrie town centre, we asked our Facebook readers if they feel this is a big problem throughout Monklands.

Wullie Taylor said: “Wouldn’t be so bad if they had a car to race instead of a loud exhaust to kid on they have power. Get real.”

Annemarie Cairney pleaded: “How about stopping the racing and tyre screeching in the Tesco car park in Gartlea too, please?”

Jassy Forrester highlighted another problem area: “Should be putting speed bumps along Coatbank Street. It scares the life out me through the night the speed they go along there.

“There’s going to end up being a bad accident one day.”

But Adam Brown failed to see what the fuss was all about: “I’m going to be honest, I’ve not seen that many so called boy racers about in ages and it’s always the same folk sitting in the retail park... but who cares, it’s a retail park.

“Plus, what is the harm in people spinning about in the retail park? Half of it is shut by 9pm and normally dead.”

David Robertson agreed: “So they spin about in a car park when it’s empty and when it’s wet? Big deal.”
