In the giving mood

Drop off parcels

- Ian Bunting

The Coat b r i d g e community is being urged to get into the festive spirit and make a difference to a child in need this Christmas by leaving a gift under a local show home’s “Giving Tree”.

Calderwood Village, an award- winning Dundas Estates development , is supporting the Moira Anderson Foundation charity during the winter initiative.

From now until Monday, December 18, visitors can back the cause by dropping off a secret Santa parcel under the special Christmas tree.

Heather Birrell, sales and marketing manager at Dundas Estates, revealed: “We’ve been supporting charities across Scotland with our Christmas Giving Trees over the last few years, and we always aim to support local community charities when we can.

“Some of our staff have been gathering gifts since the summer, or organising other events to fundraise for the charity.

“It’s all about doing our part to help a child who might not otherwise receive a gift this Christmas.”

Visitors can drop off a gift at the show home, located on Calder Street, between 11am and 5pm, every Thursday to Monday until the closing date of December 18.

All gifts should be clearly labelled with details of whether it is best suited for a boy or a girl, and include a target age group.
