- Ian Bunting

Planning consent has been granted for 72 new homes in Chapelhall.

The council has greenlit Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s proposals for the 8.37-acre development off the village’s Greenlaw Path.

The property firm says it will “deliver a wide mix of two, three and four bedroom family homes offering an impressive choice of seven styles of homes”.

The design of the development – which aims to “appeal to a wide range of buyers and complement the other historical Taylor Wimpey developments in Chapelhall” – also includes an equipped play area, which is matched with a landscaped open space.

Stephen Andre w , technical director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said: “We are delighted to confirm that detailed planning consent has been granted for our land off Greenlaw Path in Chapelhall.

“This development represents the culmination of decades of investment in the local area following the successful delivery of nine previous developments in Chapelhall.

“This tenth and final development signals our ongoing commitment, investment and strong track record of delivering excellent quality developments across the North Lanarkshire area, as well as our local commitment to the town of Chapelhall.

“P re - c o n s t r u c t i o n groundwork is already underway on- site, and construction of our range of two, three and four bedroom family homes will begin early next year.”
