Award-winning Diane confounds expectations
An Airdrie woman has burst her slimming target – for the second time in a year.
Slimline Diane Dunn originally set out to lose one-and-a-half stone, but achieved her goal last March.
She then upped the ante to shed a further half-stone – and her cracking commitment saw her recently celebrate a total two stone weight loss.
Diane’s astonishing achievement – which came just over a year after she signed up to her local Slimming World group– saw her scoop a Target Award.
She said: “I lost four-and-a-half pounds during the first week of my time with Slimming World and decided to set my target at a oneand-a-half stone loss.
“I managed to reach this level in March last year and then decided to go to the two stones level.
“This was my ultimate goal and I am so very happy to reach my overall target.
“It’s coming up on a year since I reached my first target weight, which makes me a diamond target member at my Slimming World group.”
Diane still attends Slimming World every week and helps the group’s social team with the running of events.
She said: “I still go to group all the time because I never want to go back to the way I was.
“I have also made a lot of brilliant friends and, without that help, I wouldn’t have developed the good habits I now have.
“I still enjoy eating and drinking at restaurants and pubs, but have made sensible changes to my choices.”
Sharon McGinness, Diane’s Slimming World consultant, added: “As well as winning a Target Award, Diane has also secured her Platinum Body Magic Award, which she earned by introducing exercise into her life.
“This is now part of her daily routine and she has created new grooves that will last her a lifetime.
“Diane has done amazingly well and is a fabulous member to have at the group every week.”
