Monklands rambles on for a busy month
Monklands Ramblers enjoyed their walk in Fife last week.
The Tayport to Leuchars trek is Grade C and was led by Michael McGinley.
The next Monklands Ramblers monthly midweek walk will be from Strathclyde Park to Chatelherault and return.
It is a 10-mile trek on good paths as they travel via the Heritage Trail.
Ramblers should meet Meet at Strathclyde Park Visitor Centre at noon.
The walk follows the Avon way to Chatelherault, then the old mineral tramway, past the site of Hoolet Row.
They will then continue beyond before they make their return to the Chatelherault Visitor Centre for coffee before returning to Strathclyde Park.
They expect good paths throughout the walk.
They will return on public transport.
Contact David on 01236 434706 to book a place.
The next regular walk will be the A-rated Meall a’Bhuiridh Glencoe and B route the Coire Gabhail to the The Lost Valley on May 26.
Bus fares for most walks will be £12 and £15.
Prices vary with distance travelled and numbers on the bus. Occasionally there may be additional costs, including the ferry and local buses.
Please ask a Rambler when booking if you wish to know the cost in advance. There is an introductory discount fare of £5 the first time someone walks with the group.
