Relieved readers welcome John’s safe return

-

There was a mixture of relief and joy from Advertiser Facebook readers following our story about John Love being found 14 hours after he went missing from his Airdrie home.

John’s daughter Yvonne thanked the community for helping to find her dad, who has dementia, following the family’s appeal for information on social media.

Dad-of-two John is now recovering from his ordeal and our readers welcomed his safe return.

John’s nephew Doony Donaldson posted: “Thank god uncle John was found safe.”

Kirsty Gilchrist added: “We’re all just glad he is home safe and well, Yvonne.”

Lynne Munro-Burns commented: “So glad he was found.”

Joe Renicks said: “It must have been a very worrying time for his family. My dad has dementia and I know how hard an illness it is to cope with.”

Jane Cumming welcomed John’s return: “Great news that John is back with his family.” Mags Grant agreed :“Fantastic news .” The news that Coatbridge is hosting its very own Comic Con extravaganza next month went down a storm with Advertiser readers.

Coatbridge comic book king Mark Millar is holding the event in his old school, St Bartholomew’s Primary, and has secured an impressive line-up of special guests, including Still Game’s Greg Hemphill, Burnistoun’s Robert Florence and comic book creators Leah Moore, Frank Quitely, Duncan Fegredo, Sean Phillips and Rob Williams.

Responding to Amanda Adams’ comment that she “didn’t realise you [Mark] were doing this”, Mark Millar himself said: “Been busy getting it all sorted.”

Comic book fan David Myles posted: “This sounds fantastic. What a great event for Coatbridge.”

Mum Patricia Mearns added: “Going to try and get tickets for me and the kids; they will love this – almost as much as me!”

Our social media community were concerned to hear that Coatbridge Foodbank‘s stock has reduced following the school holidays, with the facility appealing for donations.

Roy McPherson commented: “It’s such a shame that so many people need to use a foodbank, but I hope people help out the Coatbridge foodbank.”

Fiona Dawson said: “I will be taking some donations into them.”
