Star shines in im­promptu show

Carn­broe care cen­tre res­i­dents “had a ball” when en­ter­tainer Ed­ward Reid dropped by for an im­promptu per­for­mance.

The Sike­side home’s staff and vis­i­tors were also treated to a toe- tap­ping med­ley of tunes, in­clud­ing Tom Jones’ hits, Kenny Rogers’ The Gam­bler and Neil Di­a­mond’s Sweet Caro­line, as well as Ed­ward’s Bri­tain’s Got Tal­ent nurs­ery rhymes act.

He also per­formed a duet with lo­cal en­ter­tainer Jim Robert­son with both re­ceiv­ing rous­ing ap­plause from the ap­pre­cia­tive au­di­ence.

A rep­re­sen­ta­tive from the care home told the Ad­ver­tiser: “It was a great day. Ed­ward was a mas­sive hit with all the res­i­dents, and their fam­i­lies and friends who got in­volved.

“We would like to say a mas­sive thank you to him and look for­ward to see­ing his Christ­mas per­for­mance in De­cem­ber.”
