Reward of up to £10,000 on offer
A reward of up to £10,000 is being offered for information on the murder of Gary More.
Gym boss Gary, 32, was gunned down in a targeted shooting that rocked the community.
Following a “very poor” public response to police appeals for information, Gary’s older sister Lynsey More joined the search to catch his killer and made an emotional plea for anyone with information to contact police.
However, Gary’s family remain “desperate for answers” and now charity Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the murder.
Angela Parker, Scotland national manager for Crimestoppers, said: “The thought of a driveby shooting is absolutely t e r r ifying and my immediate thoughts are with Gary’s family.
“They are desperate for gym in his back garden, had been targeted by a Liverpool gang as an example over an unpaid debt.
The Record’s source backed up claims he was a debt collector for a wellknown family in North Lanarkshire but was also involved in the sale of illegal drugs including steroids.
They said: “There’s been rumours this was over a debt but if you’re just a debt collector, you don’t get yourself into debt.
“He was getting too big for his boots and was set up by someone he trusted.
“There are network links to Liverpool but this has come from closer to home.
“But if it was someone answers as to why someone would be so callous in taking him away from them.
“Gary had two children, and now they will have to grow up without their dad.
“Our charity takes information 100 per cent anonymously – always. No- one will know you contacted us, and it could local they wouldn’t have found the car burnt out near the north of Glasgow.”
More’s ex- girlfriend Natasha Holmes paid tribute to him in a social media post following his killing.
She described him as a “lovable big gentle giant” who would “never hurt anyone”.
But the source said: “Family and friends have painted him as a good guy but this is someone who was kicking doors in and collecting drug money.
“His public persona was different from his working one.”
