Stars sign up to support charity

-

Not content with sharing a film set with comedy superstars Steve Coogan and John C Reilly, Ross Owen also secured the mega stars’ signatures on an Airdrieonians shirt.

It was another fine addition to the lengthy list of A-listers who’ve joined the Diamonds supporters’trust’s charity fundraising campaign.

Ross is hoping the autographed top does big business when it goes up for auction to collect funds for the KitAid project, which subsidises free season tickets for 400 local children.

Stan & Ollie leading men Coogan and Reilly, along with Scot Shirley Henderson and Nina Arianda, who play Lucille Hardy and Ida Kitaeva Laurel respectively in the upcoming biopic, were thrilled to sign a pair of Airdrie strips after appearing on Ross’self-titled radio show.

The wonderfully talented quartet join other household names including Tom Hanks, Ben Stiller, Robert Duvall, Mark Hamill and X Factor judge Louis Tomlinson in putting their name to the Diamonds top.

Coogan said:“The Airdrieonians supporters trust’s fundraising campaign is a wonderful cause and we are thrilled to sign the shirt and give it our backing.”

Ross added:“I had Steve Coogan, John C Reilly, Shirley Henderson and Nina Arianda as guests on my radio show as part of the promotion for Stan & Ollie, along with the film’s director, Jon S Baird, and Stan Laurel’s great-granddaughter Cassidy.

“It was absolutely brilliant to get Steve and John, and Shirley and Nina, to sign two Airdrie strips and they were delighted to do it.

“They all said it was a wonderful cause and it’s yet another series of top stars to get involved in the campaign. Both shirts will be going up for auction in the very near future.”
