I t ’ s Halloween and ghosts and ghouls acro s s Monklands are gathering together for t o n i g h t ’s frightening festivities.

Trick or treaters will take to the streets of Airdrie and Coatbridge in their creative and chilling costumes.

Whether it’s Dracula and Frankenstein or Superman and Wonder Woman, there are sure to be some unfamiliar faces roaming Monklands’ neighbourhoods this evening.

At a time where the movie reboot of Halloween is riding high at the box office on both sides of the Atlantic, it’s fair to say there are many people out there who enjoy a good scare.

But what are the things that terrify you the most? And what are your favourite elements of Halloween itself?

These are questions we posed to customers at the Quadrant shopping centre in Coatbridge.

Mum Sandra Burke revelation that she’s freaked out by furry customers will have many people nodding in agreement as she told us: “I’m scared of rats.”

While Rosetta Brannen voiced a less common fear, saying: “The thing I’m most scared of is balloons.”

Killer costume Hopefully Michael Myers will give Monklands streets a miss
