Care char­ity cel­e­bra­tion

Air­drie-based char­ity Cos­grove Care toasted their first an­niver­sary of de­liv­er­ing com­mu­nity care with af­ter­noon tea in Gartlea.

More than 60 peo­ple at­tended the cel­e­bra­tions in Gartlea com­mu­nity cen­tre with staff joined by lo­cal fam­i­lies, as well as spe­cial guests Playlist for Life, Sport­ing Mem­o­ries and Ther­a­pet, all con­tribut­ing to a fun-filled day.

The char­ity, based in the Air­drie Busi­ness Cen­tre, pro­vides home care ser­vices to older res­i­dents, fam­i­lies and adults with ad­di­tional sup­port needs across North La­nark­shire.

El­derly woman Mary Green­shields, who is sup­ported by the or­gan­i­sa­tion, was de­lighted to at­tend, de­spite hav­ing not been able to leave her home for al­most a year fol­low­ing a re­cent ill­ness.

Heather Gray, the char­ity’s chief ex­ec­u­tive, said:“Cos­grove is com­mit­ted to grow­ing our lo­cal ser­vices and sup­ports in North La­nark­shire.

“We now sup­port more than 70 older peo­ple and look for­ward to do­ing more and work­ing in part­ner­ship with lo­cal ser­vices to make a pos­i­tive dif­fer­ence in older peo­ple’s lives.”
