Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser

GOOD NIGHT!

-

Scouts, Cubs and Beavers from across Monklands had a memorable experience at a sleepover with a difference.

They took over Chapelhall venues DinoM8 and Gravit8, enjoying an evening of trampolining and soft play before settling down to sleep among the dinosaur exhibits.

More than 140 Scouting members aged between six and 14, along with 25 volunteer leaders, took part in the Calder District event.

The groups attending were 2nd and 9th Coatbridge; 2nd, 8th and 9th Airdrie; Plainsbased 1st Clyde and district neighbours 9th Wishaw.

Event organiser Alistair Murray, who is Group Scout Leader with 1st Clyde, told the Advertiser: “It was the first time for both the venue and local Scouts to hold an out-of-hours event like this.

“It was a great success, with everyone saying they’d like to go back – and we’re now looking to make it an annual event in the district calendar.”
