● LAGGAN ROAD, BURNFOOT closed yesterday for carriagewa­y patching. A diversion is in place via Ballochney Street until the road reopens late on Friday. ● LEFROY STREET, BLAIRHILL is currently closed for water connection works. It is shut from Bowling Street to Blairhill Street and is due to reopen late on Friday. The diversion is via Carradale Street. ● A89 COATBRIDGE ROAD TO GLASGOW ROAD, BARGEDDIE. Right-turn restrictio­ns are in place until late on December 21 for sewer connection works. The restrictio­ns are only in effect when signage is displayed. ● LAIDON ROAD, BURNFOOT will be closed on Friday, between Laggan Road and Rannoch Road; the latter is the diversion route. ● WHINHALL AVENUE, AIRDRIE will be closed on Friday for carriagewa­y patching. The closure is between Beechbank Avenue and Commonhead Lane, and the diversion route is Wester Mavisbank Avenue. ● QUEENVICTO­RIA STREET, AIRDRIE will be shut on Sunday, between Aitchison Street and Alexander Street. The alternativ­e route while patching work is carried out is via Ralston Street. ● HOWES STREET, WHIFFLET will be closed for five days from Monday. The closure is from Calder Avenue to Rosehall Avenue and also includes both junctions. Patching work is taking place and the road is due to reopen late next Friday, December 21. Local diversions will be in place; roads officials have warned that bus services may be affected during the closure. ● EARLSTON CRESCENT, CARNBROE will see a short 20-metre stretch close from 9am to 4pm next Friday, December 21, to allow for work on manhole cover replacemen­t. ● GLENMAVIS ROAD , AIRDRIE is affected by works outside the church. Openreach is due to complete medium-impact work over the next couple of weeks. ● WHITTINGTO­N STREET, COATBRIDGE has medium-impact works taking place between Ellis Street and South Circular Road. The project in the town centre is expected to be complete over the next couple of weeks. ● LOCHEND ROAD, GARTCOSH has mediumimpa­ct roadworks taking place from Lochview Villa to the outside of property number 32. Scottish Gas Networks is running the project and is due to complete the work within the next couple of weeks. ● TOWERS ROAD, AIRDRIE. Medium-impact works at the junction at Forge Road to the outside of property number one are due to run over the next few weeks; email customer@sgn.co.uk to find out more. ● CUMBERNAUL­D ROAD in Muirhead will have medium-impact roadworks running for the rest of the year. The Scottish Water project is at the entrance to Bedlay estate, off the A80 at Moodiesbur­n. ● GARTGILL ROAD, COATBRIDGE. Traffic is banned from the stretch of road between Wilton Street and Gartsherri­e Road, until February 7. The restrictio­n is in place to allow Network Rail to carry out bridge maintenanc­e works. Vehicles are asked to use Wilton Street, Lomond Road and Gartsherri­e Road; pedestrian access will still continue to be maintained“at all times”. ● ABERCROMBI­E CRESCENT, BARGEDDIE will be closed over a 50m stretch, leading south from its junction with Edward Street, for five days from January 7. The diversion will be via Dykehead Road while manhole cover replacemen­t works are carried out. ● DYKEHEAD ROAD, AIRDRIE will be shut on January 31. The closure is between Thrashbush Road and Thrashbush Quadrant, and is for telecoms works. The local diversion put in place for motorists will be via Roughcraig Street; pedestrian access will still be available during the works.
