at Old Monkland Parish Church runs on Thursdays from 10.30am until 12 noon at the church hall on Manse Avenue; tea and coffee are available.

Lip-reading classes

are run by Deaf Services Lanarkshir­e, based at Unit 40 in Fountain Business Centre. The free classes, for anyone who is hard of hearing, take place on Thursdays from 6.30pm till 8.30pm. CAP job club 4th Coatbridge Girls’ Brigade Indoor bowling club

New members are invited to join at any time. Free coaching is held every Tuesday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, and Thursday from 7pm to 9pm and is open to non-members. Bowls and shoes are also available to borrow. The club is open from Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 9.30pm; phone for weekend opening. The Clifton Suite can be hired for functions for up to 130 people; there are still dates available for Christmas.
