Tributes to chart star Dean

Friends and fam­ily have paid trib­ute to mu­si­cian Dean Ford, the Air­drie-born lead singer of hit Scot­tish band Mar­malade.

Dean – whose real name was Thomas McAleese – passed away last week fol­low­ing a hugely suc­cess­ful ca­reer. He was 72.

The beloved per­former lived in Coat­bridge and has been la­belled“a great singer with a spe­cial tal­ent”by Jim Mil­lar, lead vo­cal­ist of Mon­k­lands band The Con­cordes.
