Tributes to chart star Dean

Friends and family have paid tribute to musician Dean Ford, the Airdrie-born lead singer of hit Scottish band Marmalade.

Dean – whose real name was Thomas McAleese – passed away last week following a hugely successful career. He was 72.

The beloved performer lived in Coatbridge and has been labelled“a great singer with a special talent”by Jim Millar, lead vocalist of Monklands band The Concordes.
