DIAMONDS TERRACE TALK with Colin Campbell Diamond standard entertainment

-

A first time win at Methil in many years meant a very happy homeward journey.

The man of the match was Leighton McIntosh, but every Diamond was fully motivated.

Ian Murray made a brave team selection as newcomer Josh Campbell replaced Dale Carrick. The Airdrie tempo and commitment dominated East Fife.

The Diamonds went on the attack early on, as great support to McIntosh and Kyle Wilkie pressured the home defence.

A fine cross from Kieran McDonald was knocked into the path of Wilkie by McIntosh and he scored. That only lasted a minute as Ben McKenzie made a hash of a pass back and the Fifers equalised. Our stunned silence told a story. It was the first mistake by the young goalie in his series solid appearances. Before the break, it was a thing of beauty as McIntosh bulleted home a back post header. An entertaining result sees us competing for the top end play-off places.
