Have a new day and venue for their sports and play activities. The youth club is based at Four Isles community centre and runs on Tuesdays from 6pm to 8pm; the cost is £2.50 per child (including tuck shop); call 07722 477226 for details. The group also runs football training for those aged four to 12 at the community centre. Sessions take place on Fridays from 6pm to 8pm; the cost is £1, which includes water and fruit, and participan­ts are asked to wear indoor shoes.

Craigneuk and Old Petersburn tenants’ and residents’ associatio­n will next meet on Monday at 7pm, in New Broomfield. The group meets on the second Monday of each month.

Entertainm­ent includes: Sunday afternoon karaoke; Thursday evening cash bingo; live singer, with free entry, on the first Saturday of the month; and bar lunches served in the small lounge on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

There will be no meeting of the community council in July. Meetings will resume in August, taking place at the All Saints and Rochsolloc­h primaries’ joint campus on Bellsdyke Road at, 7pm. The breaking of the bread takes place on Sunday at 11am. Sunday school runs from 2.30pm to 3.15pm. Evening gospel meeting is at 6.30pm every Sunday, except the last of the month when the service runs from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. Prayer and Bible reading is held on Wednesdays from 7.30pm to 9pm.

Airdrie North representa­tive Sophia Coyle will hold her next village surgery next Wednesday, July 10, from 6pm to 6.30pm in the community centre. Fellow ward councillor Tommy Morgan will hold his next surgery on Saturday, July 13, at 12 noon in Stanrigg memorial hall.

Takes place in the Orange hall on Sundays, with tickets on sale from 8pm and eyes down at 8.30pm. The Lucky Joker will be drawn at 8.25pm. Tickets cost £1 and are on sale from the children’s committee members or bar staff. This will continue throughout the summer holidays.

The Stanrigg mining memorial group welcome visitors. Transport can be arranged by calling 01236 830637; open to all. Martin Fabricatio­n are arranging for two summer seats to be placed there shortly. The committee thank Willie Beatty of Bartlett’s in Airdrie and his workers who cut the grass and cleared up the weeds at the site. It was a good job well done.

Takes place on Wednesdays from 10am to 12 noon at the community hall, for youngsters aged up to three years. Is open to all who would like to visit; membership­s are now closed until September 9 when the annual general meeting will take place at the club. A new group allowing young people aged between 15 and 18 to learn to play pool is now full; the youths must be accompanie­d by an adult. On July 30 there will be a new competitio­n for dominoes and pool. Winners will receive a steak pie; runnersup will be presented with four cans of lager; open to all.

Greengairs charity committee’s next event will be a tribute night to Robbie Williams and Michael Buble held on August 24 at the social club, with all proceeds being donated to the Parkinson’s self help group Lanarkshir­e charity. Tickets cost £6 per person and are available to buy now.

The Girls’ Brigade meet in the church hall on Mondays; all girls welcome. The Boys’ Brigade meet in the same venue on Wednesdays, with Anchor Boys followed by the Junior section. Primary schoolaged boys are invited to attend.

The One Way Club, for children in Primary Four to Seven, and Rock Solid group, for secondary school pupils, take place on Tuesday evenings in the church hall and are led by youth worker Jenny.

People can learn to play musical instrument­s including guitar and fiddle at St Bartholome­w’s church hall on Fridays from 8pm to 9.30pm. Lessons are followed by a folk music session until midnight.

The nearly new sale held at New Wellwynd parish church on Fridays is now closed for the summer holidays. It will reopen on August 2, from 10am to 12.30pm. Stalls will include clothing, household goods, toys and bric-a-brac; admission is free.

Summer opening hours unt i l September 4 are Mondays from 6.30pm to 9pm, Wednesdays from 5.30pm to 9pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. Members and non-members are welcome, and free hire of bowls and shoes can be provided. The Slimming World and line dancing groups based at the venue will continue throughout the summer. Runs fortnightl­y walks every second Saturday. Bus pick- up points are Red Bridge at 8.45am and Glenboig at 9am; the club runs a varied programme of walks ranging from four to 10 miles. At Old Monkland parish church runs on Thursdays from 10.30am until 12 noon. Tea and coffee are available, and all are welcome.

The Margaret Skinnider Heritage Centre, based on Academy Street, is open every Saturday from 11am to 3pm. A June sale is now on and organisers are asking people to “support their local Irish heritage centre”.

Meets on Mondays from 12 noon until 2pm at Hope Church on Bank Street. Those looking for work are invited to attend for friendly, practical support in finding a job. Lunch is provided; and places can be booked by calling 0800 328 0006.

The Angel of Love and Light Spirituali­st Church holds its meetings every Monday at 7.30pm at Coatbridge community centre, on Old Monkland Road (in the grounds of St Andrew’s High School). New members are welcome to come along.
