Harper says shop window could be shut

-

Albion Rovers boss Kevin Harper says he won’t be rushing into any more January transfer business – despite slipping to second bottom of League Two.

Rovers had been set to play Edinburgh City last weekend but their League Two rivals were on Scottish Cup duty.

However, relegation rivals Stenhousemuir secured a 3-2 win to leapfrog the Coatbridge side in the table.

With three games in hand over the

Warriors and two on rock-bottom Brechin, Harper said it wasn’t time to hit the panic button at Cliftonhill.

So far St Mirren loanee Nicholas McAllister is the only new addition in the window.

The gaffer told the Advertiser:“We don’t have any plans to add anyone unless they become available. In December were were really light, but now players are starting to come back from injuries.

“We were light in defence and Nick has come in, and also Lewis Wilson is back from his holiday.

“We were light in midfield, but we have Will Graham and Nick Paterson coming back.

“Callum Home and Sean Fagan are our only injuries just now so we aren’t planning big changes.”

He also didn’t expect any more to follow Smart Osadolor out of the door – yet. Harper added:“If people come in for one of our fringe players, just like with Smart, I would discuss it with the player and they could make a decision.”

Harper also said he wasn’t concerned with slipping down the table ahead of the clash with Queen’s Park this weekend.

He said:“We are only looking at our games, we don’t look at other results.

“We have games in hand on the teams around us and play both Stenhousemuir and Brechin at the start of February.

“My focus is going to play Queen’s Park and putting on a performance.

“The players have a lot to prove following the Stirling game. We can do much better.”
