Airdrie Ladies get set for return

Airdrie Ladies hope that SWF crunch talks will allow them to green light their pre-season plans ahead of the return of the Championship season.

The Diamonds have agreed their first friendly clash against Hutchison Vale next month and have resumed training in groups of five to adhere with social distancing rules.

Secretary Laura McElroy has revealed that the Championship clubs expect the return of contact training to be confirmed following a Zoom meeting with the governing body this week.

McElroy said: “It’s all dependent on Covid but we have had meeting with the league every two weeks.

“We have a provisional league return date of October 18 and are hoping for more information about full contact training and friendlies.

“Everyone is desperate to get back; it’s been frustrating having to wait. We’ re booking pre-season games so hopefully everything is confirmed soon.”
