Sutherland vamps it up in 80s classic

This eighties-tastic vampire horror was a real favourite of mine growing up.

The late Joel Schumacher rarely directed anything better and it’s great to see an unhinged Kiefer Sutherland going all in on the wacky tone.

Sure the hairstyles and fashions will cause some head shakes, but The Lost Boys otherwise holds up really well.

Coreys Haim and Feldman are excellent and the sunny Californian setting adds a sense of sweaty claustrophobia.

Plus points also go to the soundtrack – one of the finest in the history of cinema.
