Rovers fan in rescue
Comic book writer’s £18,000 cash injection
Mark Millar admits he would love to secure an Albion Rovers Netflix special one day.
Ne t f l i x produced ‘Sunderland ‘ Til I Die’ and Amazon’s behind-the-scenes Tottenham and Manchester City documentaries have hit the headlines in recent years.
Now Millar, who is an executive with the American streaming giants, hopes to bring Rovers to Netflix.
He reckons there is plenty of potential for a fly-on-thewall programme with the new £18k Pixellot technology in place at Cliftonhill
He said: “I’ve signed on to pay for the camera systems for three years, so I will be involved with the club for at least the next three years.
“I am doing this as a private individual, not as an executive at Netflix, but I must admit that quietly I would love to drop a word into Netflix and see if we can get them involved at some point as time goes on.
“I need to build up some brownie points at Netflix first and then we can see about squeezing some American dollars out of them!
“Wouldn’t it be awesome though?
“Is there a reality show in this, or a highlights package? There are a lot of conversations to be had over the next couple of years.”
