But did he use a fish eye lens?
A keen Lanarkshire w i l d l i fe photographer captured some magnificent shots of salmon leaping through the River Clyde.
While out on one of his daily walks, travel agent and avid snapper Derek McSwan headed to the stretch of water at the David Livingstone Bridge.
And it was there that he managed to get these amazing pictures of salmon run.
The salmon run is the time when salmon, which have migrated from the ocean, swim to the upper reaches of rivers to spawn on gravel beds.
Derek explained: “I really enjoy taking pictures of all kinds of wildlife and recently I’ve had plenty of time to enjoy doing so while I walk my dog.
“It’s quite tricky to capture the salmon as you have less than a second to take the photograph from when they leap and land. It’s even more tricky having my Akita dog and balancing the camera.
“I’ve had a great reaction to the photographs, with lots of people now going to see if they too can spot the salmon.”
