Rapid rise for Rovers youth star Choudhry
Zahid Choudhry wants to make an instant impact on League Two after a whirlwind six months has seen him make the step up to Albion Rovers.
The 19-year-old had been plying his trade in the amateur ranks with Glasgow Diverse before making the move to the Rovers under-21 side before the Covid lockdown.
Now the ex-Celtic Boys Club midfielder has been snapped up by Brian Reid for the first-team after less than a month in the youth set-up.
Delighted Choudhry said after signing a first-team deal:“We had done some trials and I was asked to come up to reserve training.
“There was a break because of coronavirus, and then after that I got a message saying the first-team wanted me to go and train with them.
“Brian [Reid] has been really good with me and he has given me tips on my position.
“Hopefully I can now take the opportunity in League Two, if I get my chance.”
