Tough squad calls after Kelty draw

-

Ian Murray admits he has his work cut out to pick a first choice goalkeeper after both David Hutton and Max Currie produced strong showings against Kelty Hearts.

The Diamonds were held to a 1-1 draw by Barry Ferguson’s side as Kallum Higginbotham cancelled out Ally Roy’s second half opener for the visitors.

Airdrie’s keepers got 45 minutes each with Hutton keeping a clean sheet in the first half and Currie - a summer signing from Stranraer - made a great double stop late on after saving a penalty from Nathan Austin.

Murray said:“you want two goalkeepers pushing each other all the way, and that’s what we’ve got - but it’s the same all over the pitch if I’m being truthful.

“We’ve got a lot of quality in the wide areas now as well, so it’s very difficult to pick a team. David and Max have trained really well and pushed each other all the way and I’m looking for that to continue.”
