Animal charity in need of supplies for centre

- JEAN WARD

The Scottish SPCA is appealing to Monklands animal lovers to donate supplies to its Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.

The animal welfare charity is running low on much needed essential items for the animals in its care.

All nine of the Scottish SPCA rescue and rehoming centres are still closed to the public.

Although virtual rehoming is now available via the Scottish SPCA website, due to lockdown restrictions they have a higher than usual number of animals in their care.

The centre is in desperate need of towels and these can be found on their Amazon wish list.

However, items do not need to be purchased directly from Amazon; if preferred, donations can be purchased elsewhere and brought directly to the centre.

Centre manager Gillian Boyle told the Advertiser: “Our team have continued to be there for Scotland’s animals over lockdown and provide them with the care they need.

“We know that times are uncertain but we are asking that people don’t forget the animals.

“To continue to provide the animals at our centre with the best possible care, we need your support.

“We would great l y appreciate donations of towels which are listed on our Amazon wishlist.

“Items purchased through Amazon can be sent directly to our centre, but they can also be bought elsewhere and dropped off to us.

“We understand that times are difficult just now but we, and the animals, would appreciate anything that people can spare.”

Towels needed are detailed in the centre’s Amazon wishlist at https:// amzn. to/2rpzjkv
