Roads to close in town for works

A series of Airdrie roads will close for roadworks over the next few weeks.

Meadowfiel­d Road in Longriggen­d is shut until Friday, between Upperton Road and Bridge Street, with Caldercrui­x’s Woodside Road and Forrestfie­ld Road closed until Sunday, from the A89 Airdrie Road to B825 Caldercrui­x Road.

Both closures are for carriagewa­y resurfacin­g works and no diversions are available.

Meanwhile, carriagewa­y resurfacin­g will see a further three road shut off.

Chapelhall’s Bank View, from Sherdale Avenue, is closing from for five days from Monday, the village’s Cardell Crescent, between Crogall Crescent and the junction with Burn Crescent, will see a four-day closure from next Wednesday, October 7, and Abbey Place in Airdrie will shut for four days from October 14, from Cloister Avenue.

Again, there will be no alternativ­e routes for motorists on all three roads.
