New store in town

-

More than 50 jobs are being created as discount retailer B&M prepares to open a new branch in Coatbridge later this month.

The new store at Faraday retail park in the town will open its doors at 9am next Thursday, October 15.

B& M say its premises at units 14 and 15 have had “a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment” ahead of the opening and say the store is “a welcome boost to the local economy”.

A company spokesperson told the Advertiser: “We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers. We’re feeling really positive about the creation of more jobs for local people and hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

New staff members were recruited during the summer for full and part-time posts.

Fulton Macgregor, the Coatbridge MSP, welcomed news of the new store, saying: “This is a welcome boost for the site and local employment opportunities. I have been having meetings regarding investment and future plans for the Faraday park and will always fight for investment in the constituency.”
