Charity looking for new recruits
A health and social care charity has launched a recruitment drive in Monklands as Covid-19 continues to raise awareness of the importance of the social care sector.
Quarriers is offering three-month taster contracts as well as permanent roles across North Lanarkshire to help deliver vital services.
The organisation supports adults and children with a physical or learning disability, as well as families facing poverty, family breakdown and disadvantage.
The roles on offer within the charity include support workers, autism practitioners and team leaders at a range of services including The William Quarriers Scottish Epilepsy Centre and Quarriers Lyssenmore Service, which supports individuals to live in their own home and enjoy an active life in their local community.
Director of people and technology, Alistair Dickson, said: “Covid-19 has been a challenging time for everyone, and this was definitely the case for the social care sector.
“We value the skills and experience of people in retail, hospitality or call centre roles who are unable to work or have been furloughed due to Covid. Individuals looking to apply should not be deterred if they do not have experience within the sector as full training will be provided.
“We’re offering people the chance to ‘dip their toe in the water’ to see if a career in care is right for them. We’re confident that Quarriers can offer a fulfilling social care career combined with training and support throughout.
“Quarriers follows all Scottish Government guidance to ensure people are kept safe and staff are provided with the necessary PPE equipment; they also have the option to be vaccinated in line with key worker status and access to regular testing.”
