Sweet success in Lees competitio­n


The Advertiser was inundated with entries for our exciting competitio­n to win one of nine delicious 90th anniversar­y hampers from Lees of Scotland.

Dozens of readers got in touch to correctly identify that it was the Macaroon that John Lees invented in 1931.

The nine lucky winners selected to enjoy mouthwater­ing tasty treats from the beloved

Coatbridge confection­ery company are: George Morrison, Anne Austin and Margo Elliott from Airdrie, John Spiers from Plains and Tom Porteous, Agnes Ward, Helen Watt, Christine Mccrone and Helen Crilly from Coatbridge.
