Bingo players eachwin £50,000

-

Two Coatbridge bingo players each won incredible £50,000 jackpots just three weeks apart at the same popular local club.

Both anonymous winners were rewarded with top prizes after making lastminute decisions to visit Buzz Bingo at Faraday retail park in the town.

Winner one called “house” just five days after the club reopened following the fivemonth lockdown closure. And club officials say the player – who had to isolate throughout the pandemic – plans to put the money towards a family wedding.

The second successful player, a club regular for 15 years, then won the jackpot only three weeks later – meaning Coatbridge players have picked up two of only nine of the “life-changing” top prizes issued since Buzz branches across the country welcomed back customers last month.

Coatbridge club manager Gordon Barr said of the combined £100,000 handed out: “I can’t believe we’ve had two lucky winners in only three weeks.

“I’m so pleased that after so long apart, we’ve had two great wins for our lovely regulars – it’s a fantastic way to celebrate reopening.”

Buzz chief retail officer Peter Brigden added: “The atmosphere in club when there’s a big win is always incredible, and we’re delighted to see another two winners scoop £50,000.

“Nine people have won this £50,000 jackpot since clubs re-opened and two have won at Coatbridge. It’s great to celebrate a win and have the rest of the bingo community celebrate that too.”
