Sony gives glimpse of new releases
Sony’s latest State of Play proved to be a little light on new reveals last week, but it did give some updates on anticipated releases.
As expected, the live stream focused heavily on Deathloop, with nine minutes of gameplay footage from the actionadventurer showcased.
The Sony timed-exclusive is due out on September 14, and will be available only to PS5 players until
September 2022, when it will be unleashed on other consoles.
Sadly missing from the show was any news about the new God of War game, or the hotly anticipated Horizon Forbidden West.
But fans did get a look at co-op shooter Arcadegeddon and the adorable VR adventure sequel Moss: Book 2.
We also got a trailer for Jett: The
Far Shore , which sees a group of aviator scientists exploring a mythical ocean planet.
It looks impressive and feels a lot like No Man’s Sky, with the intrepid travellers roaming the alien world on foot, or blasting through the skies in a peppy little spacecraft.
Death Stranding: Director’s Cut also got a mention. Expect enhanced enhanced combat mechanics, new battles, and a racing mode. It will arrive this September.
Deathloop is one of the few Sony exclusives releasing this year, this promises to be lots of fun.
The action-adventurer has you playing as Colt, an assassin who finds himself stuck in a time loop.
Set in an alternate 1960s, it’s got a great retro look and feel to it — and the soundtrack is brilliant too.
It should be worth the wait.
