Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser
Collection soars up to £4k in days
A fundraising website set up to support the owners and staff of Guidis has collected nearly £4000 in less than a week.
The Help Trattoria Guidi’s Airdrie! Gofundme page was also put in place to “re-establish this restaurant that’s so close to our hearts”.
And bosses of the Rochsolloch Road eatery have responded to this remarkable show of generosity on Facebook, writing: “Carlo would like to sincerely thank everyone for their kind messages, calls and offers of support since the fire.
“We have been truly overwhelmed by the enormous level of support and have really appreciated reading everyone’s messages.
“There have been amazing offers of temporary venues, employment opportunities for staff and one very kind customer has set up a Go Fund Me page, the proceeds from which will go to our staff. Thank you all, we are extremely grateful.”
In a wonderful effort to offer help to the Guidis team, the organiser of the Help Trattoria Guidi’s Airdrie! page, set up on Wednesday afternoon, wrote: “the long established and successful trattoria Guidi’s needs our support.
“Many of us have fond memories at this beautiful restaurant and due to the recent unfortunate and unforeseen fire to our local restaurant, the staff and owners would certainly appreciate our support to help staff and re-establish this restaurant that’s so close to our hearts.”
The Gofundme page had raised £3896 of its £10,000 target as the Advertiser went to press. Search for “help Trattoria Guidi’s Airdrie!” on Gofundme to make a donation.
